Pain and Tattoos
Anyone with prominent tattoos has been asked the same question, more than once, and no
manner how many times they answer the question it keeps coming. Does it hurt?
The true answer to that question is YES it does, but not that much. It feels a lot
like being scratched with and it feels a little hot, but it's not agony. In general it usually is not enough
to put anyone off from getting a second tattoo, should they want one. During the course of the average day
there are a few of us who will go through more pain and think nothing of it.

NOTE:
Just be aware there are rare cases where people have had severe reactions to the ink and/or
needles. This is usually caused by poorly disinfected needles and/or carelessness in the
mixing of the ink. So always check that the parlor is clean, properly sanitized and the artist is
properly licensed and inspected.

There will be one of two reasons why the pain is too much to bear. Firstly, it is possible that you could
either be prone to pain when getting a tattoo or just maybe the tattooist is less than talented. However, most
tattooists are more than talented enough to know how to minimize any pain and suffering and will do the
job done as quickly as possible to quickly end the suffering.
If you take a pain killing injection or treat the area with anaesthetic cream beforehand then there is a
real danger of the skin swelling. This will result in a tattoo that will most certainly look bad.
If getting a tattoo is too painful, or even the thought of any pain is too much to bear, then,
obviously, tattoos are NOT for you. It doesn’t mean that you are a wimp, it
just suggests that you should probably find another way to adorn yourself.
